I found the course lacked structure that I would expect at university, the content itself was very exciting, but it required alot of self teaching as by week 6-7 we were only just learning about creating a door, where as I would expect to be at a much more advanced stage, it would of also been nice to include some tutorials on import sculpted prims into second life as nearly everyone struggled with this.
Finally I found the marking to be quite inconsistent, I know of people who put in much greater work than other team members, producing better work as a result, and yet getting lower grades. This is on top of a demo session that never occured so people could not demonstrate there work only to be told that it had occured 3 weeks earlier, without there knowledge despite being in the lab for the entire session.

I think it was the best module of the year, I certanly had alot of fun and it was intresting to meet people in the virtual world. The coursewas chanllenging and not in the brainstaking way but in a intresting way. I would like to look into a further development into scripting and graphic designs.

Virtual Reality was one of the most interesting module that i enrolled for, very different normal, networking, databases or programming that most students
are use to, module faetures included c++ scripting, graphic designs, calculative, creative and building skills.
I would deffinately recommend to any 3 year students, who want to participate in a different module, that is actually an enjoyable module.

VR was an interesting module which i enjoyed taking part in. I woul recommened it to people that want to use their creativity in a virtual world, almost like The Sims. The time given to do the projects and write up was enough and I had no worries to take my time over it.

Hi Chris, Thank you for guiding us through this brilliant VR course and enabling us to get an all round exposure to VR platforms, modelling, animation and construction. My previous experience was low and would recommend the course to other students as its packed with fun, good learning and an option to develop leadership and project management skills from the start. It slots in well with the other courses and gave us ample time to develop and refine our work while helping others and studying for other courses.
Merci

This module made a welcoming change from the number and code crunching ones of past. If you feel you have a creative side either in photography or animation, then this module should be on top of your list. You get the chance to find out about many different softwares (all free!), and the best bit about using them is putting your ideas into Virtual REALITY . In addition to the course content, Chris delivers his teaching eloquently and in an open, down to earth, and fun manner. Stefan [ K0331628 ] 2008 graduate

I found VR very interesting and a very new experience in some ways it was relief from the other modules that i took. Chris was very helpfull and patient in getting the work done. he was very understanding and helped us with the task that was needed. although it wasnt made clear on what 3d designing software we could use.
All the topic tought were very interesting.
OVER ALL ITS A THUMBS UP 9/10
